Emiliana Martinelli was born in Lucca in 1949 and after her degree in Ceramics at the Art Institute of Lucca and in Industrial Design at ISIA in Florence, she graduated in Architecture at the University of Florence. Immediately after she joined the family company, where, thanks to the guidance of her father Elio, she began designing interiors and producing layouts for Martinelli Luce’s stands at numerous trade fairs in Italy and abroad. She is president of the family company and she has always had a dual activity: entrepreneur, designer and art director, taking care of the graphics of communication and commercial material, as well as the design and manufacture of new lighting fixtures. Since 1965 she has worked with architects such as Gae Aulenti and Sergio Asti and continues to collaborate with important designers outside the company. Some of her projects receive awards such as the ADI Design Index, Compasso d'Oro, IF PRODUCT DESIGN and IF PRODUCT Design Gold.
